★★★★☆ | The pothead business cards of Friendly Stranger, a Cannabis Culture Shop located in Ontario. Not only are these actually green and eco friendly, they are perforated to be used as a filter for joints and blunts for marijuana. Printed on a non-toxic paper with vegetable inks.

Here’s the case~ I use a soap bar that doubles for my hair and as body wash, shaving cream etc. (via WildHerb on etsy) and then I rinse my hair with 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water.
My hair is also incredibly damaged to the point that I can’t use hot iron tools with my hair, and blow dryers are restricted to hair emergencies.
It’s thick hair, and kind of lacking in volume at the roots.
I was wondering if anyone has an eco-friendly hair care routine they could share with me or sources that have good information. I’d be grateful for any help!
I try to stay away from shampoo that comes in a bottle and I refuse to believe that there isn’t something in nature that can help my poor damaged hair (at least until I can stall for time for another hair trim).
I’m planning to dye my hair back to a dark color, but using henna hair dye in hopes that I can get my hair dark enough with it to match my roots because my hair is this really strange light brown and then my roots are just dark brown and it looks strange and unpleasant :(
Wild Herb is the shop that I got my bar shampoo/all-in-one soap from! I ordered the wrong scent due to a misunderstanding (that was mostly my fault) but the owner was so kind and understanding and sent me another shampoo/soap bar in the right scent!! (I accidentally purchased spearmint instead of lavender bud, but it still smells great!)

So far I’ve done three shampoos with it and I love the bar (but don’t get it in your eye— same as with anything else you’d wash your hair with) and I rinse with 1/4 lemon juice to 3/4 of water (and make two servings of it for after washing my hair to serve as conditioner, which I also got in my eye because I’m a total dunce….it hurt pretty bad). Once I run my roommate dry of this nifty split-end repairing oil, I will probably be using jojoba oil and/or vitamin E oil to continue treating it.
Wild Herb has quite a variety of soap :) after scouring Etsy for an all-in-one bar I chose them so I think they’re worth a shot to try if you want to start some natural hair care (I got a half size bar but believe me you will need more if you like it and want to continue use).
My hair personally took a few shampoos to adjust to this method of bar shampoo, then lemon/water rinse (you can use apple cider vinegar instead of lemon, I just had that laying around) but now that my hair has adjusted there’s no strange residue. It’s really all about taking proper care of your hair! I honestly don’t take care of my hair at all;;;;; shame on me. I hardly brush it which explains my split ends from hell~ so I’m looking for an eco-friendly salon to have my hair cut and maybe some bamboo-made brushing and hair care supplies -sigh- that’s what I get for thinking eco-friendly means “don’t do shit to your hair” because that’s not the answer :(

I wanted to share this blog post from Sew Green’s blogspot on how to make your own deodorant and so the reviews all say that it’s an outstanding recipe! This is perfect because there’s no packaging, no mysterious chemicals going into your body, and you’re not supporting big business (phew).
But be warned this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant! And your body will also take a few weeks to adjust to using but in the long run it’ll be worth it :)
Check out Pristine Planet! You can even refine your searches based on tags like vegan, biodegradable, Made in the USA, sweatshop free, charitable, etc. The list of tags go on! And of course they vary depending on the category you’re shopping in.

I was looking for a hair product brand to promote in my class :) and of course I’m gonna take the eco-friendly route. What a brilliant site to come across!
A lil late night post :> Because earlier tonight I hung out with my good friend and neighbor and I saw this book in her arms and I squealed. THEN SHE TOLD ME IT WAS FOR ME. I WAS GOING TO CRY. Needless to say I invaded her personal bubble afterwards.
I fully intend on reading this book. It’s called Green Cleaning, Natural Hints and Tips For the Eco-Friendly Household (I’m blown by their creativity but hey I get the point loud and clear and probably wouldn’t have otherwise). It’s about five natural cleaners no home should be without
I love natural solutions <3 especially things you can make at home. I am ALL for saving money with home made products. I’m especially a big fan after learning the whole body sugaring thing. Btw, I believe we’re going on two weeks now? And I’m JUST getting underarm hair stubble :) HA. That’s a long ass time of not having to shave under my arms!

Just to sum up why I’m blown away and to hopefully convince you to check these out
Certified Organic hair dye? Yeeeee!! I need to dye my hair soon so I’m looking around for some eco-friendly hair dye :) you’ll get updates for other results as I find them~ I feel like making a list :> I’ll put it on a resources page or something.

This offer is for today only, but it’s also how I found out about this laundry detergent brand that I’m so eager to try out! You put the “nuts” (they’re actually a fruit, it’s all on their page) in a bag and throw them in with your clothes! It’s simple sounding pretty much. Seriously go to their website (or their facebook page to like them cause I totally already did) and check it out! Nothing could be friendlier than this brand of laundry ‘detergent’

The Packaging?
We strive with our packaging and products to have as little impact on the environment as possible, and that means no plastic in every instance it can be avoided. Whenever possible, we incorporate recycled, repurposed, sustainable and organic materials.
Every box of Eco Nuts™ purchased is one less plastic detergent bottle, and our goal is to remove 1 million plastic bottles from ever making it into a landfill or using precious resources in order to recycle that plastic.
They also offer a liquid form in aluminum bottles (because aluminum is the easiest and most energy efficient to recycle) if you’re not brave enough to nut up :)
I hate being on a such a tight budget because I always want to buy offers like this that come up. Unfortunately I’m on the “wait-until-you-use-it-all-up” budget, THEN I can replace my usual products with eco-friendlier items.
